Paste Colorants

Χρωστικές Πάστες

POLYTINT® color pastes are high quality pigment dispersions, produced in three roll mills.

POLYTINT® color pastes are quite stable dispersions, which means that they do not separate or thicken during storage. The viscosity of these pastes (10 – 25 Poise) is designed to ensure easy handling and incorporation, while reducing the tendency to settle on storage. All standard pastes can be poured, pumped or dosed. Paste viscosity can be adjusted depending on customer/application requirements. Usually, small batch hand-mixing operations choose higher viscosity pastes for easier weighing and handling, while when metering pumps are used lower viscosity pumpable pastes are preferred. The tendency for pigments to settle increases the lower the viscosity. Therefore, we recommend stirring the paste before use at the pump.

POLYTINT® color pastes are controlled for:

  • Color
  • Fineness of grind
  • Viscosity

A wide range of single pigment, organic, inorganic or special effect, dispersions is available, including pigments with high light and weather fastness. Our color lab can design colors that match shades from RAL, Pantone or other reference color charts. Optical brightener and UV stabilizer can also be included on request.

POLYTINT® DINP

Are high quality pigment dispersions in Di-Isononyl Phthalate (DINP), a phthalate ester plasticizer that offers good permanence, heat and light stability and low temperature flexibility.
They offer low use cost and good compatibility for the coloration of vinyls, polyester and polyether polyols for PU, cast acrylic, SBR, nitrile and chlorinated rubber, alkyds, cellulosics, phenolics, polyamide, polycarbonate, polystyrene.

POLYTINT® ATBC
Are high quality pigment dispersions in Acetyl Tributyl Citrate (ATBC), which is a safe, odorless, 100% bio-based and rapidly biodegradable plasticizer of low volatility and high flash point. ATBC is suitable for food contact, toys and medical applications and offers excellent flexibility at low temperature, with good stability at high temperature and good UV resistance.
Are suitable for the coloration of vinyl resins, urethane polymer systems, SBR, nitrile and chlorinated rubber, acrylics, cellulosics, polystyrene, and bio-based plastics.

POLYTINT® REACTIVE A

The carrier is a polyester polyol (oil free alkyd type) with a hydroxyl value of about 220 mg KOH/g. This series offers higher color strength for equal pigment content and excellent compatibility with all PU systems.  As the polyol is fully reacted into the foam, the physical properties of the final foam remain unchanged even at high use levels.
This series is suitable for coloring toys and articles that come in contact with food.

POLYTINT® CO
Consist of high quality organic and inorganic pigments dispersed in castor oil.
Castor oil is a naturally occurring renewable polyol with a hydroxyl value of min 160 mg KOH/g.
This series offers higher color strength for equal pigment content and excellent compatibility with all PU systems. As the polyol is fully reacted into the foam, the physical properties of the final foam remain unchanged even at high use levels.

Typical applications are polyester and polyether PU foams, PU adhesives and sealants, PU coatings, PU elastomers and films. Also, alkyd paints, NC lacquers, artificial leathers.

POLYTINT® AA
POLYTINT® AA are pigment dispersions in a solvent free air-drying alkyd resin suitable for all alkyd systems.

POLYTINT® PW-A
Polytint PW-A are organic and inorganic pigment dispersions in a system of styrene acrylic resin and surfactants, APE (alkyl phenol ethoxylates) and glycol free.
Polytint PW-A are suitable for the coloration of water-based systems such as emulsion paints, wood coatings, PU coatings, paper coatings, non-woven and textiles.
They offer high tinting strength, high gloss and shock resistance.
